Our Team

As a multi-disciplinary team of environmental and sustainability experts, we understand that clients require both solid science and adherence to accounting principles to move beyond compliance.

Leadership

Alistair Marks

Managing Director

  • Computer Science & Business Administration

Al is a font of knowledge with 22 years of experience; the well-used chair in his office is a testament to the support he provides our whole team. He uses his very varied background to try and figure out where we are, where our clients would like us to be and what we need to do to get there. As head of the IT team, he has been instrumental in the development of Envago our environmental and sustainability accounting system over the last 15 years. It is his baby and requests for change had better be for the better. Like Mr Ed he’s always on a steady course.

Ana Alexander

General Manager - Business Services

  • GAICD, Leadership, Economics, Accounting

With a medley of degrees, Ana meticulously intertwines her diverse experiences with her passion for business growth and social impact. Guided by her mantra, "getting comfortable in the uncomfortable," she continually pushes boundaries (read: buttons), ensuring that both our strategies and outcomes are nothing short of exemplary. Her academics may impress, but her zeal for sailing and the great outdoor adventures truly define her.

Anne Smith

General Manager - Continuous Improvement

  • Zoology & Management

In addition to environmental accounting, Anne has a special talent for describing the impact of the hard and shiny on the soft and furry, especially in freshwater. She balances a passion for the great outdoors and fitness, with cake. When she's not at her desk she's championing office push up challenges, pounding the pavement or baking themed birthday cakes for all her friends and their families. She's the threadwork to the Greenbase seams and has a very well-worn chair in her office.

David Robertson

General Manager – Client Services

  • Chemical Engineering & Management

Dave is a gas. He also heads up our GIMS team (Greenbase Index of Methods and Standards) and knows each of our current 1700 methods and standards intimately. Dave oversees the engagement models with our various Partners and has a keen eye for risk and opportunity. He is also rumoured to be quite good at something called field hockey.

Consulting & Advisory

Amy Hefferon

Analyst - Environmental Accounting

  • Environmental Monitoring & Technology

With an Environmental Monitoring & Technology background, Amy seamlessly intertwines her professional prowess with her love for the uncharted wild. Between delving into environmental reporting and charting unseen wilderness trails with her family, she is hunting hidden gems in thrift shops. A devoted fan of Sir David Attenborough, she draws inspiration from his explorations and narratives. Remember that compassionate figure rescuing reptiles on the roadside? That was probably our Amy. She has an aptitude for fauna handling, rescuing, and wrangling everything from the slick and slithery to the fluffy and feathered. As a self-professed foodie, she dreams about being a judge on MasterChef. Infusing our team with a mix of technical brilliance, a culinary palate, and a deep-rooted love for nature, Amy is a delight to work with.

Anne Feng

Senior Consultant - Environmental Accounting

  • Biological Science & Psychology

There is a lot of left brain and right brain on the go here. Annie has a Masters of Biological Science mixed with a BSc double in Marine Science and Psychology in Society and a love of programming in R. Add in writing creative fiction, editing scientific papers and volunteering for the Australian Electoral Commission and you have a well-rounded Anne who is happy to be called Annie.

Chris McLoughlin

Director - Business Development

  • Leadership & Accounting

Chris started his business life in accounting, moved into IT via professional services, started a Systems Integration business focused on payment systems in the Nineties, sold it in the Noughties and was looking for a way to contribute to a more purposeful business when he found Greenbase. He is also currently involved with the Environmental Accounting special interest section of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand. He has been heard to say his job is to create opportunities. We say great, make sure they are the right ones. In his spare time Chris is studying rugby union and is hoping to use it to develop a Unified Theory of Conflict Resolution.

The Master of both his own destiny and Environmental Management, Conrad is our author-in-residence and the proud co-author of work in the Journal of Hydrology. A lifetime soccer fan and travel enthusiast, his highlights include visiting Brazil for the FIFA World Cup, eating India’s finest curries and seeing the Great Pyramid of Giza. We bet his next trip will be to Chichén Itzá, where he can tick another wonder of the world off his list and study the cave systems in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Daniel Beeck

Senior Consultant - Environmental Accounting

  • Environmental Science & Biochemistry

Daniel is a harmonious blend of botanist, aquarist, and biochemist. With a foundation in Environmental Science and Biochemistry, he's as adept in the lab as he is with tending to his garden. If you can't find him analysing intricate data, he's likely rewinding Moto GP videos, daydreaming of unhurried beach days or perhaps squeezing in a game of Starcraft Broodwar. His expertise shines in the professional realm, but his multifaceted passions truly make Dan our resident renaissance man.

Jack DeGuzman

Junior Analyst - Environmental Accounting

Emma Harris

Specialist - Environmental Accounting and Safeguard

  • Chemical Engineering & Metallurgy

Emma is our very own dancing queen with an unexpected twist - a degree in Chemical Engineering! While she gracefully pirouettes in the world of dance, by day, she's extracting brilliance from what most would deem mundane. Emma’s spirit? Irrepressibly upbeat and perpetually positive. She’s won the flexible working crown, often dialling in from Australia’s hidden gems during her bush escapades. When she's not choreographing sustainability solutions, she's juggling dance routines, her vivacious kids, and the occasional moment of zen. Sleep? It’s on her to-do list right after the next tango!

Fraser Eynon

Senior Consultant - ESG and Scope 3

  • Data & Environmental Engineering

Before Fraser came to us, pouring over datasets was a hobby, now they get to do it as their day job. Fraser genuinely loves taking your data, polishing it and synthesising it into useful and meaningful forms. Outside of the workplace Fraser has coached hockey for over a decade and is always counting the weeks down until the next half-marathon.

Kriti Bajracharya

Rose O’Gorman

Junior Analyst - Environmental Accounting

  • Chemistry

Rose is a trained chemist with a flair for organic mysteries and a fondness for Korean thrillers. At Curtin University, Rose distinguished herself in the laboratory and classroom, sharing her knowledge with the students with the same enthusiasm and passion she has for vintage shopping and live music events.

Despite growing up on the outskirts of Perth, surrounded by nature, Rose's heart seems to long for the rain and cold. She frequently travels back to the UK to reconnect with family and finds solace in snowy retreats in Japan.

Rose's scientific rigour and love for nature align perfectly with our values and support the quality of service we bring to our clients.

Mara Pendragon

Analyst - Environmental Accounting

  • Computer Science

Mara always wanted to be a vet. Fortunately for us, Mara decided to get her computer science degree instead. As a highly experienced business analyst, Mara is our go-to person for all things analytics.

Beyond her outstanding career in tech and analytics, where she consulted on large projects for local governments, agriculture, and mining, Mara is a mother of two and an adventurer at heart. Before her current pastime of reading books to her kids, knitting, and immersing herself in Dungeons and Dragons, you would have found her mastering archery or cruising around on her motorbike.

Mara's multifaceted life experiences bring depth, understanding, and a relentless drive for excellence in everything we do.

Laura Orozco

Junior Analyst - Environmental Accounting

  • Environmental Engineering

A feline fan with an adventurer's soul, Laura effortlessly merges her Environmental Engineering expertise with her innate love for the outdoors. If she wasn't leading the charge on eco-endeavours, she'd be penning tales as a travel journalist or capturing wildlife through a lens. As day shifts to night, Laura's at her best, cherishing sunsets where time seems to pause. A "Planet Earth" enthusiast, Laura's passion extends from nature's grand spectacles to its tiniest inhabitants. Infused with curiosity and a profound love for animals, Laura adds depth, insight, and a dash of wanderlust to our team.

Su Fong Yong

Consultant - Environmental Accounting

  • Chemical & Project Engineering

Su speaks Greenbase fluently along with English, Mandarin and Malay. She’s also currently working on her Korean language development through a commitment to watching k-drama. A background in chemical and project engineering has helped her hone her environmental accounting skills and she can declutter and organize data as efficiently and effectively as she does a home. Su’s counting down the days until she can visit Japan again or be trackside at a Formula 1 race.

Susan Milne

Specialist - Environmental Accounting

  • Civil Engineering

Sue builds her reports using her much invoked KISS principle. Build them solid and as simple as possible. Sue applies the same principle to fill the penalty box when refereeing on the lacrosse field.

Technology & Development

Aaron Peel

Software Developer

  • Computer Science & Education

At the intersection of computer code and cinematic dreams, you'll find Aaron, crafting digital symphonies with a side of semicolons. With a Computer Science degree in his toolkit, he doesn't just talk to machines but has a penchant for dialogues—be it on the silver screen or immersive podcasts. While he once aspired to converse with the stars as an astronaut, for now, the realms of science fiction satisfy that yearning. Sure, he hasn’t reached space (yet), but with every line of code and movie binge, he's one step closer.

Andrew Vanweerden

Software Developer

  • Linguistics & Software Development

From the frosty terrains of Canada to our sunny shores, Andrew brings a unique Canadian cadence to our development ensemble. While he playfully contends that his Linguistics degree sharpens his coding syntax (we'll see about that), his knack for cryptic crosswords, albeit with some head-scratching — can't be overlooked. Every dawn demands a ceremonial black coffee, fuelling his day filled with linguistic adventures, from Japanese intricacies to Australian slang. Yet, for all his global endeavours, the hues of a Canadian Autumn resonate deepest.

Dylan Marks

Software Developer

  • Computer Science and MBA

Dylan is the vest-wearing visionary of our devs team. With dual powers of an MBA and a Computer Science degree, he’s been our coding connoisseur and architectural ace since day one. Beyond the codes and clouds, Dylan's passion lies in weaving deep strategic stories and charting uncharted territories (usually on giant whiteboards). If he's not mapping out our next big ENVAGO move, he's likely charting a walk for his four-legged sidekick. Dive into a profound conversation with him, and you'll see why he's been an integral pixel in our company's digital canvas since the start of this century!

Remy Kung

Front End Developer

  • Accounting, CPA, Information Technology

According to Remy, accounting, auditing and coding go hand in hand. Go figure, though, we agree. Remy brings a keen eye for detail and a rigorous analytical approach to her role, crafting intuitive and engaging user experiences with precision and creativity. Remy's ability to unravel complex problems, whether balancing financial sheets or debugging code, showcases her exceptional problem-solving skills - a trait she enjoys implementing outside of work with challenging Sudoku puzzles while sipping (yet another) bubble tea.

p.s. Remy's love for bubble tea is as strong as her code, making her our go-to expert for Perth's best bubble tea spots.

John Q.

ENVAGO Support

  • IoT and Quantum Computation

John is our very own version of Ian Fleming’s Q.

Msquared

Software Developer

  • Applied Science & Software Development

Msquared (yes, that is a name) works mainly on the bits you cannot see, the dark arts. He puts the 'ease' in Easel (our internal data-configuration software), and his work has been instrumental in allowing us to work with Partners on Envago. In his spare time, we think he reads and memorises dictionaries to dominate lunchtime Bananagrams.

Operational Support

Jonathan Surin

Office & Finance Administrator

  • Administration & Design

Jon makes sure the office functions so the rest of us can do our thing without having to worry about such mundane things as getting paid, what we sit on, what we write on etc. Always helpful, always well turned out a gentleman in the true sense of the word. Loves buying shoes.

Sheilah Ismail

Marketing Coordinator

  • Environmental Management, Communications & Media, Digital Marketing

Sheilah is as dynamic as her globe-trotting upbringing, which spans six countries and two continents. Being new to Western Australia (making Australia her continent number 3), she loves exploring untamed hiking trails and discovering Instaworthy camping spots. Hailing from Singapore, she'd rather chew your ear with Singlish* while sipping matcha than chow down some chilli crab at the Chomp Chomp Hawker Centre.

Professionally, she's taken a bold leap from Environmental Engineering to Marketing and Communications, driven by a passion for championing Sustainability Communication. With her eclectic background, knowledge of environmental principles, and forward-thinking approach, Sheilah brings fresh perspectives and communications skills, complementing our team's sustainability efforts.

*Singlish: a colloquial form of Singaporean English, a medley of English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil.
